Aleksandra Gryka

Graduate of the composition class of Krystyna Moszumańska-Nazar at the Music Academy in Krakow. She took part in the composing contest held under the auspices of the Parisian new music centres IRCAM / ACANTHES in Krakow and Helsinki (2000), as well as in courses for composers in Buckow in Germany (2001). She then participated in the summer workshops for composers in Reichenau in Austria, studied in the United States as part of a student exchange programme between Central Washington University and the Music Academy in Krakow (2002). Aleksandra Gryka’s works were performed at the Warsaw Autumn Festival. She is the laureate of the First Prize of the EuroArtMeeting Composing Contest in Wrocław for her work High3bbingNor (2000). She was twice nominated the Paszport Polityka award in the field of Classical Music (2003 and 2006). In 2004 she was nominated for the Christoph und Stephan Kaske-Stiftung Foundation Award for electro-acoustic creations, and in 2006 for the TVP Kultura Award.
