Eight Lines (1983)« backA version of the previous work Octet, scored for string quartet, two pianos and two clarinets. Reich supplemented this scoring with yet another quartet, in order to distribute the complex pitch modules among a larger number of performers. In 1985, American choreographer Jerome Robbins utilized the composition in a dance arrangement under the same title, prepared for the New York City Ballet. |
