2x5 (2008)

The work was written in two versions: for five musicians and tape, or for ten rock musicians comprising two percussions, two pianos, four electric guitars and two bass guitars. According to Reich’s assumptions, it is an equivalent to the previous Double Sextet, scored for a different, ‘rock-and-roll’ performance ensemble. A recording of 2x5 rendered by ensemble Bang on a Can was released together with this work on a disc for Nonesuch.
